Burns' Night

Celebrate the work of Robert Burns at our annual Burns Night (near enough) event. We are grateful to the Golf Hotel for hosting and providing their fine haggis, neeps and tatties (included in the admission price). Sing, play, recite or just listen. Always a good fun show.

Alan Reid

14th March, 2019 - 8pm

 

Multi-instrumentalist Alan Reid found fame with the internationally renown  Battlefield Band making almost 30 albums and being inducted into the Hall of Fame. He also has solo albums and four with Rob Van Sante. Working with Van Morrison and Mike Oldfield also looks good on the CV. It will be a welcome solo return to Crail for Alan. Sure to be a big night.

A return visit from James Hickman, with his emotive singing, and Dan Cassidy with his American dry humour and drawl and, of course, wonderful violin playing. Put it all together and you get a night of unmissable great entertainment.

Siobhan Miller, Jim & Susie Malcolm & Johnny Izatt

We join forces with Crail Festival to present a bumper folk night featuring BBC Radio 2 award winner, and three time Scots Singer of the Year Siobhan Miller. On her return to the club Siobhan will be joined by her regular musicians. Also on the bill we have Jim Malcolm, Perthshire folk royalty, and his wife Susie. If that wasn’t enough Johnny Izatt will bring his wide range of music to start the evening. Complimentary Gin Tasting.

The Shackleton Trio and Rachel Carstairs

We start our 2019 guest season with an exciting double bill. The Shackleton Trio is one of Europe’s most booked acts playing an exciting mix of folk, Americana and their own material. Alongside Georgia Shackleton there will be guitarist Aaren Bennett and mandolin player Nic Zuppardi. As a special guest we have Rachel Carstairs, one of Scotland’s most exciting young traditional singers/violinists. Once she finishes at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland the world will be her oyster. Not to be missed.

Awards keep on coming for Iona. Most recently 2018 Scots Singer of the Year. Her debut album Away From My Window has gained much acclaim not least from a sell-out show at Celtic Connections. It is a privilege to welcome her to Crail.

Blues icon, three time Acoustic Blues Artist of the Year Dave Peabody has joined forces with classically trained German violinist Regina Mudrich to produce an entertaining selection of blues, early jazz songs and a ‘few oddities.’ Good lively stuff

Edwina Hayes

A welcome return of Crail favourite Edwina Hayes. She has appeared to sell out audiences at both the folk club and Festival. Maybe a new album will appear by the time she reaches Crail. In the meantime the great and the good like Michael Parkinson, Nanci Griffith, Cameron Diaz and the Guardian continue to be very happy with what they’ve heard so far.
