Ella Munro Band

22nd June 2023 - 8pm

Ella is a folk singer originally from the Isle of Skye but now based in Glasgow. In 2009, she was awarded a place at the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music, where she spent 5 years studying Scots and folk song. Ella then studied further at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. It was during this time that Ella formed the Ella Munro Band.

After supporting acts across the central belt, including the likes of the Paul Mckenna Band and Archie Fisher, the Ella Munro Band became regulars on the folk club circuit around the UK and enjoyed performing across the country, from Durness to Jersey. Ella's unique combination of folk song, Scots song and original songs has enraptured audiences across the country with the band able to both play foot-stomping upbeat songs to engage an entire audience of all ages and stages but also perfectly execute a nuanced traditional ballad. Ella was a finalist for the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award in 2017 and later successfully released her debut EP in 2018, ‘The Final Trawl’. Ella’s Summer 2023 tour encompasses venues across the UK and is not one to be missed!

Ella's musicians are worthy of bookings in their own right so we are lucky to have them.
